Jive Addiction’s Weekend at Scarborough - Nov 2008

Drove to Scarboro’ with Neil and Karen, who was excellent at changing a wheel when we punctured on the way!
Lesley and her friend Vanessa drove down from Newcastle and we stayed in the Esplanade Hotel which provided small but adequate single rooms and excellent food and service.
The dancing was good but the standard lower than I expected and have witnessed at other weekenders. Saturday night was the big night and we had incredible demo dances from Nigel and Nina, and Paul and Cat. Sunday night was quiet and a come-down after Friday and Saturday.
Of course, dancing with Lesley was the best part of the weekend and we managed many jives, just a little tango and Lesley started West Coast Swing. I danced with a couple of other ladies, in particular, and I wonder if they will remember me.
The weekend provided the opportunity to meet up with Tony for lunch on Saturday and dinner on Sunday in an excellent Mexican restaurant. Tony is so impressive in terms of his enthusiasm and ideas and I always feel better for talking to him.
So, a good weekend and I will recover from the rigour of days that start with lessons at 10.30am and end about 2am, in a few days.
